CELL BLOCK 7 PRISON MUSEUM

Friday-Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  The Ella Sharp Museum has partnered with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) and has opened a prison museum in Cell Block 7 of the State Prison of Southern Michigan.

$15 – Adults  ,   $8 – Children 5-12,  FREE – Children 5 & under

$10 – Senior Citizens, Military personnel, Ella Sharp Museum members & Michigan Dept of Corrections Employees

Candie’s Roses Relay for Life Team is hosting a benefit show on “Talent United to Fight Cancer” on July 25th at 7:00 at the Western Community Arts Center to raise funds for Relay for Life of Jackson County. The show will be featuring former Miss Michigan’s Coni Hull-Sullivan and Katie Pennington-Remmer, Former Rosequeen Christine LaRock Gorton, former Emcee Tony Frewen, former pit band members and former contestant Marla Pletcher Sanford. Tickets are $10.00 and will be available at the door.

    Event: Baker College of Jackson Engineering Open House

    When: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015

    Where: Baker College of Jackson, 2800 Springport Road, in the 100 building, Jackson.

    Event Description:

    Prospective students and their families are invited to Baker College of Jackson to learn about academic programs and careers in engineering and manufacturing.

    In addition to touring the new state-of-the-art manufacturing lab, attendees will have access to faculty, administration, students and alumni to discuss the many programs. Business representatives will also be available to provide information about careers in their industries.

    The lab replicates a machine shop where students in all of Baker College’s manufacturing programs collaborate to develop a product from the concept stage to prototype production.
