Celebrity News ‘Hannah Montana’ Honoring The Military Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus and their “Hannah Montana” characters are honoring military families. The episode was taped Friday in front of a studio audience filled with military families. It’ll air this August. In the episode, Miley Cyrus and her dad sing a new song called “I’m Still Good.” It’s upbeat and about being a good kid even if parents aren’t around. Billy Ray Cyrus recently was on a USO tour to the Middle East. The Bob Hope USO in Los Angeles helped with the storyline.
TV Land Awards While Farrah Fawcett wasn’t remembered at the Oscars, she was spotlighted at the Emmys. Now she’ll be honored at the upcoming TV Land Awards. TV Land says “Charlie’s Angels” will receive the Pop Culture Award. Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith will be there to pay tribute to Fawcett. It wasn’t mentioned if Kate Jackson will be there. Also at this year’s TV Land Awards, the cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” will reunite for the first time since Peter Boyle passed away. “Glee” is being honored as a Future Classic, and Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner will receive TV Land’s Legend award. The TV Land awards will be taped on April 17th and air April 25th.
‘Avatar’s’ DVD Release The DVD and Blu-Ray for “Avatar” will be released in conjunction with Earth Day. If you’re in France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Spain, you can buy it on Earth Day: April 21st. It’ll be available April 22nd in the U.S. and Canada, followed by the rest of the world. “Avatar” is the highest-grossing movie of all time. It has taken in more than $2.6 billion worldwide, so far.
Tiger Woods To Play Masters Tiger Woods announced yesterday that he will return to his profession and play at the Masters next month. Woods released a statement that said, “The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta.” He added, “I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.”
‘Growing Pains’ Producer Sentenced For Child Porn An executive producer for the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains” has been sentenced in Arkansas to 7 1/2 years in prison for distribution of child pornography. Steven Marshall was arrested last April 15th on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to distribution and the possession charge was dropped. Authorities say he engaged in sending and receiving child pornography and participated in online chats detailing child abduction, bondage, rapes and murders. The judge said yesterday that Marshall’s sentence exceeded the five-year minimum for distribution because of the nature of the pictures and language used in chat rooms.
Haim Laid To Rest Corey Haim has been laid to rest in a private family memorial in Toronto, Canada, just days after he died from a suspected drug overdose. Haim was found unconscious at his mother’s home in Los Angeles in the early hours of March 10th and pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph’s hospital in Burbank, California. Close friends and family gathered yesterday to pay their final respects in a low-key ceremony at the Steels Memorial Chapel. Someone who was notably absent from the service was Haim’s former “Two Coreys” co-star and best friend, Corey Feldman. Feldman announced that he would not be attending the funeral out of respect for the Haim family’s wishes to make it a “small, private affair.” He said he would remain in Los Angeles to plan a memorial for his friend. Haim’s cause of death will be released after the toxicology reports are finished.
Haim's Sister Gives Birth Corey Haim’s sister, Carol “Cari” Haim, has given birth to a healthy baby girl, according to “Access Hollywood.” The late actor’s sister, 40, gave birth on Monday to Molly Rose via c-section. This is the first child for Cari and her fiancé. Little Molly was born the day before her uncle’s funeral in Toronto.
Paula Abdul To Lead New ‘Star Search?’ Paula Abdul is reportedly in talks to join ABC’s upcoming “Star Search” reboot, which is currently eyeing a summer launch date. Sources claim that Abdul’s role would involve some variation of hosting and judging, although no official word has been made. Abdul’s name has been attached to a number of projects since she left “American Idol” last summer, including ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” Recently, there have been rumors that she may join Simon Cowell when “The X Factor” heads to Fox in fall 2011.

The NASCAR driver announced the happy news yesterday on his Web Site. “I’ll speak with the media here in Talladega in a few minutes, but I wanted to let all of my fans on JeffGordon.com know first that Ingrid and I are having a boy!” They are already parents to 2 1/2-year-old daughter Ella.
Betty White Joins Cast Of ‘Cleveland’ TV Land has signed Betty White to co-star in its new sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland,” set to premiere in June. The network’s first original scripted series also features veteran actresses Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick. White was initially cast in the show’s pilot, but now is expected to appear throughout the entire season.
Heather Mills’ Artificial Leg Sets Off Airport Alarm Heather Mills recently set off an alarm at London’s Heathrow airport and was forced to have her artificial leg swabbed for explosives in front of other passengers. Mills, who reportedly remained calm during the incident, voluntarily rolled up her pant leg to let security guards inspect her artificial appendage. The former model was on her way to the U.S. to launch her meat-free ready meals.
Update: ‘Deadliest Catch’ Star Cleared “Deadliest Catch” star Jake Harris was cleared of DUI and hit-and-run allegations on Monday due to a lack of evidence, but Seattle prosecutors are pursuing two other misdemeanors against him. Harris, whose father Capt. Phil Harris died from complications of a stroke on February 9th, has been formally charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. If convicted, he faces a maximum of a year and three months in jail. The reality star was pulled over in his father’s BMW in Seattle on February 18th and was initially booked for DUI, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license. His next court hearing is set for March 26th.

Rumors have been all over the Internet saying MTV refused to play “Telephone,” Lady Gaga’s video with Beyoncé. MTV executive Amy Doyle said the video has been playing on MTV since Friday. Believe it or not, MTV does play videos, generally between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Justin Bieber Set For Summer Headlining Tour Justin Bieber will hit the road on his first-ever headlining tour of North America. Bieber will play a mix of arenas and state fairs throughout the summer, starting in Hartford, Connecticut, on June 23rd. Sean Kingston will open the tour. In conjunction with Bieber’s “My World” tour and his upcoming “My World 2.0” album, the “Bieber Fever” fanclub Web site has been launched at bieberfever.com. “My World 2.0” will be out next Tuesday.
More ‘Malice’ From Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg will follow up 2009’s “Malice N Wonderland” with “More Malice: Deluxe Album and Movie” on March 23rd. The eight song EP comes with the 40 minute “Malice N Wonderland: The Movie.” In the film, Dogg plays “a superhero on a mission to save his city.” The film will also stream on Hulu and air on BET and Spike TV later this month.
Mariah Carey Writes, Sings On New School Gyrls Single Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have written write a song together for Cannon’s new girl group, School Gyrls. Mariah also does background vocals for the single, “Get Like Me.” School Gyrls just premiered their first movie for Nickelodeon, written and directed by Cannon. In the high school-set musical comedy, the Gyrls perform some of their original material. The movie also features a cameo from Justin Bieber. “Get Like Me” was released on the iTunes store yesterday and joins two other Gyrls tracks currently available for download: “Something Like a Party” and “I’m Not Just a Girl.” “Get Like Me” is slated to appear on the Gyrls’ upcoming album, set for release later this year. The album is expected to have even more Carey and Cannon co-writes.
First Batch Of ‘Lilith Tour’ Dates Surface Organizers of this summer’s “Lilith Tour” have unveiled details for the traveling festival’s first handful of dates, and have also named the acts who will share the stage with tour founder Sarah McLachlan. So far, dates and venues are confirmed for July and August stops in Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Atlanta, West Palm Beach and Portland, Oregon. The tour is due to launch June 27th in Calgary, Alberta. Organizers have also revealed a lengthy list of performers who will rotate through the event’s lineup at various stops. They include the Indigo Girls, Jill Scott, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Martina McBride, Brandi Carlile, Colbie Caillat, Sheryl Crow and Sugarland. Lady Gaga Hits The Floor In New Zealand Lady Gaga reportedly struggled through her closing number and appeared to collapse during a recent concert in Auckland, New Zealand. The singer, who was said to appear dazed and unsteady on her feet, slid to the floor, removed her head gear and lay flat on her back for most of the song. Two months ago, Gaga was forced to cancel a concert in the U.S. after passing out from exhaustion.
Dr. Drew To DMX’s Rescue DMX was sentenced yesterday to 6 months in jail for 5 separate counts of probation violation, all due to using illegal drugs. However he might be able to avoid time behind bars by going to rehab. During the hearing, a rep from the Pasadena Recovery Center gave the judge a letter from Dr. Drew Pinksy. The letter asked permission to treat DMX at the facility instead of sending him to jail. Reports say the judge seemed open to the idea.
Bench Warrant Issued For Lil Wayne’s Arrest Lil Wayne was due to appear in court yesterday in Yuma, Arizona – but since he’s currently in jail in New York, he was unable to make it. The valid excuse didn’t stop Yuma County from issuing a bench warrant for his arrest. The court date was in relation to a January 2008 arrest after DEA agents found marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy pills and a 40-caliber pistol on his tour bus. Lil Wayne is already serving a one-year jail sentence in New York for having a loaded gun on his tour bus. The rapper began serving that sentence on March 8th.
Judge Approves Wrongful Death Settlement For Barker’s Best Friend A judge has approved a multimillion-dollar legal settlement involving the wife and young son of Travis Barker’s assistant, who was killed in a 2008 plane crash in Columbia, South Carolina. The settlement with Learjet Inc., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and other companies involved in the ownership, operation and making of the jet will pay for college for Chris Baker’s 3-year-old son and establish an annuity giving him more than $17 million over his lifetime. It also will pay Baker’s widow more than $7.6 million. The plane crash killed four people and left Barker and DJ AM seriously injured. DJ AM later died of a drug overdose. Baker and the estate of DJ AM have settled their cases involving the crash for undisclosed terms.
