New and re-elected members of the Jackson City Council will swear and oath on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at City Hall. Mayor Derek Dobies won re-election in November and will be sworn in along with Freddie Dancy who won re-election after running unopposed in Ward 2. Laura-Dwyer Schlecte was voted into the Fourth Ward council seat in November. Dwyer-Schlecte had previously served in that role prior to the election of Craig Pappin who decided not to run for re-election in 2019. Will Forgrave who defeated incumbent Coleen Sullivan for the Sixth Ward seat is the only brand new face being sworn in.
Following the swearing-in the Council will convene their regular meeting.
