Jackson County COVID-19 cases on the rise

Jackson, MI — The Jackson County Health Department has identified a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases due to travel outside Michigan.

As of May 1, 2020, Jackson County had 360 recorded cases of COVID-19 and 23 deaths. As of July 1, 2020, the case count was up to 492 with 29 deaths.

So far, 417 in Jackson County have recovered from COVID-19.

The Jackson County Health Department offered the following safety tips and precautions residents can take to help slow the spread of COVID-19:

The Jackson County Health Department recommends getting tested if you feel symptoms of COVID-19, warning not to brush possible symptoms off as jet lag or the result of a long drive.
