Jackson Mayor comments on South Side grocery store plans

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The City of Jackson has made it known that they’re working with the MLK Corridor Improvement Authority on putting a new grocery store in the City’s south side. Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney said the community made it clear they wanted this project.

Mayor Mahoney says not only would a grocery store be beneficial to the south side residents, but also for many others living in the downtown area.

Even if it’s too early in the process to make strong commitments to specific details, Mayor Mahoney says that this is a big step in improving the MLK corridor in general, an effort to which he has been committed for quite some time now.
