Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A Jackson woman is facing multiple drug-related charges following multiple overdose deaths at the Travelodge on Rosehill Road.
On Sunday, January 18, officers with Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety (DPS) were dispatched to the hotel for a report of a possible drug overdose in one of the rooms.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and an adult female deceased inside the room. A third adult female was also present and was transported to Henry Ford Jackson for treatment related to an overdose.
The deceased victims were identified as 36-year-old JaJuan Worthy of Jackson and 35-year-old Ashley Connin of Jonesville. Both deaths are believed to be the result of a drug overdose.
During the investigation, detectives say it was learned that the three individuals had obtained narcotics from a 41-year-old woman from Jackson.
Later that evening, with assistance from the Jackson County Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET), detectives conducted an operation to apprehend the suspect. As a result, 41-year-old Angela Marie Chapman was taken into custody.
On January 20, Chapman was arraigned on two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance Causing Death, along with additional charges related to the investigation.
