Jackson, MI (WKHM) — A rest area in Jackson County will be closed for around a month beginning on Monday (June 8).
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced the beginning of parking lot repairs at the Jackson Rest Area along southbound US-127 north of Jackson city limits.
MDOT says that the project will require the closure of the parking lot and the rest area itself to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
Currently, the project has an estimated end date of Thursday, July 2.
This $7.3 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 62 jobs based on economic modeling from the state of Michigan.
