Traffic in Brooklyn is being rerouted around the village square after a crude oil tanker leaked an undetermined amount of crude oil around 11:30 a.m. Thursday near the corner of Main, Monroe and Chicago Streets. Michigan State Police are on the scene as well as Columbia Township Police, the Department of Public Works and a haz-mat team. Cleanup of the spill may take several hours. Some businesses on the village square are still open. Customers are requested to park behind the buildings.
