After a ruling from Judge Susan Jordan, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office has been removed from the case involving former Jackson City Councilman Andrew Frounfelker.

Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka said that there was no conflict of interest, but the appearance of impropriety exists, given Frounfelker’s former position with the City of Jackson. “We respect Judge Jordan’s decision and have sent her order to the Attorney General’s office. The impact of the court’s decision is that we have been completely removed in the prosecution of this case, although we are ready, willing, and able to take it to the jury.”

“The Attorney General is in the process of making the decision whom that prosecutor is, and they will basically be in charge of the case going forward.”

The case is scheduled to resume in August.
