An officer with the Jackson Police Department attempted a traffic stop around 12:20 Thursday morning for a vehicle driving without headlights. The car pulled over near Greenwood Avenue and W. Biddle Street, but fled as the officer approached the vehicle. The officer pursued the vehicle which eventually lost control and crashed on Helena Avenue, a dead end road south of Jackson. The driver and passenger then fled the scene on foot. A k-9 unit called in to track the suspects was unsuccessful. It was later determined the vehicle had been stolen from the 1700 block of E. Ganson Street.
