A 2 year-old boy died in a mobile home fire in Mt. Pleasant Friday evening.  Emergency personnel responded to the Mount Pleasant Mobile Home Village at around 6PM.

An adult male escaped the fire with minor burns, but the 2 year-old was left trapped inside.

Firefighters and officers were unable to rescue the boy due to heavy flames and smoke.

No one else was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
