Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A man in Jackson County court has recently pled no contest to 2nd Degree Murder in relation to the 2022 death of a toddler.

Jackson County Prosecutor Kelsey A. Guernsey reports that on Friday (February 20), 43-year-old Donald Chad Flack pled no contest to one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

This conviction stems from the death of a 15-month-old child that occurred on December 13, 2022.

At approximately 4:10 a.m. on that date, police responded to a complaint of a young child having trouble breathing.

The child was found in the home and pronounced deceased by medical professionals on scene. The child presented with injuries consistent with abuse, and Donald Chad Flack was the only person present and caring for the child at the time of the incident.

Prosecutor Guernsey thanked Detective Jeremiah Wheeler of Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety for his investigation leading to this conviction, as well as Assistant Prosecutor Audrey Sayles-Reed for her dedicated work on the case through its pendency.
