Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Shortly before 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff reports that all county units responded to 20th Street in Summit Township for reports of a possible shooting after a 911 call.
When the matter was investigated further, authorities say it was discovered that the call was the result of a malfunction of the caller’s phone, which rang up 911 while they were playing the video game Fortnite.
Fortnite is a popular third-person shooter, most well known for its “Battle Royale” game mode in which a large group of players eliminate each other until there is only one player left standing.
The residence was checked, and ultimately no signs of a shooting were found.
