Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The TRUE Community City Square in downtown Jackson was the site of the 2025 Jackson County Law Enforcement Memorial on Wednesday afternoon. The event was attended by many citizens and law enforcement officials alike, with Jackson County law enforcement leading most of the ceremony. Jackson Police Department Chief Christopher Simpson says that while it is unfortunate that these kinds of events are necessary, it is good to see the support Jackson showed its law enforcement.

He told WKHM that the support and connection between law enforcement and the community that was showcased is important to uphold.

Chief Simpson led the Memorial’s welcoming remarks. Lieutenant Tedric Gibbs with M.S.P., Jackson Post was the keynote speaker, and the roll call of heroes was done by Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety Director Darin McIntosh. Director McIntosh read the list of all twelve law enforcement officials with a connection to Jackson County who were killed while on duty since 1906.
