Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head early Wednesday morning in Blackman Township. At around 1:28 a.m. on June 4, 2025, officers from the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the 100 block of Peacock Walk in response to a report of a shooting.

When police arrived, officers located the boy with a gunshot wound to the head, breathing but otherwise unresponsive. Officers rendered immediate aid on the scene before transporting him to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives from the Blackman-Leoni DPS are investigating the incident, with the circumstances of the shooting currently being unclear to authorities. Police say multiple individuals were present at the residence at the time of the shooting.
