Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Special Olympics Area 19’s third annual “Barbecuing for Athletes” BBQ Rib Competition is happening this Saturday, June 14. Area 19 director Randy Coleman told WKHM what prizes will be up for grabs at this event, which takes place at the American 1 Event Center.
The event is also hosting an amateur cornhole tournament hosted by the Federation Cornhole Group.
Rib taste testing begins at 3 p.m., and teams can begin to serve side dishes at noon to their discretion. All funds gained from the event go to the great cause of supporting Special Olympics athletes.
Award ceremonies for the BBQ Rib Competition is scheduled to begin at 4:30, but can be moved up if needed.
