Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Fair has announced that there will be no charge for parking during this year’s fair taking place August 3 – 9 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Parking had been $5 per vehicle in prior years, with the Fair anticipating the removal of this cost to help attendance and the overall atmosphere. Fair organizers say this was made possible through support from Art Moehn Chevrolet and Experience Jackson.

“We couldn’t have done this without their commitment to community access and family fun,” said Fair Director Emily Thomas. “They stepped up in a big way to help us remove a barrier for families, and we’re so grateful.”

Emily Wright, Director of Marketing at Art Moehn Chevrolet, says they are proud to be part of something that brings Jackson together. “The fair is a tradition in Jackson, and supporting free parking means more families can be part of the experience.”

Experience Jackson highlighted the impact on the broader community as inspiration for their role in support. “As Jackson County’s official visitors bureau, we are excited to sponsor free parking for this year’s fair week,” said Rachel Buchanan, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Experience Jackson. “This not only opens up an accessible opportunity for those who might not be able to afford parking costs, but also encourages attendees to pour funds into other local attractions, restaurants, and shops during their fair week experience.”

The fair will feature traditional favorites like livestock shows, carnival rides, grandstand events, delicious fair food, and free family activities throughout the week.
