Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — As July 4th approaches, Independence Day celebrations will be taking place all throughout the country, including at a variety of locations local to the Jackson area. The Cascades 4th of July celebration is taking place on July 3rd at Cascade Falls, with the gates opening at 6 p.m. and live entertainment beginning at 6:30, followed by the fireworks show beginning at dusk.

Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney says the Cascades fireworks is a childhood favorite of his, and that the weather this weekend should help lead to a good time.

The Hanover-Horton community will be having Independence Day festivities with a couple main events on the 4th, as Julie Alexander recently discussed on A.M. Jackson with Marc Daly.

Julie told WKHM that there is even more fun in store on the 4th, with plenty of activities to keep the whole family having fun.

Center Lake in Michigan Center will be hosting live music and mini fireworks beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, as well as a boat parade on the 4th at 1 o’clock.

The Grass Lake 4th of July parade will get going at 10 a.m. on Friday at Grass Lake High School, followed by a chicken BBQ from the Grass Lake Sportsman Club at Grass Lake Park. The Village of Brooklyn’s 4th of July parade will also start at 10 o’clock on Friday morning.
