Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson County Clerk Cierra Sowle has announced that, beginning in 2026, the Clerk’s office will discontinue direct management of early voting sites. The office instead will enter a “support” role in early voting.
Early voting will be managed directly by local clerks, just as election day polling locations are managed. Moving forward, Jackson County officials say the Clerk will continue to oversee programming, ballot printing and ordering, training election workers, and assisting with troubleshooting election day issues.
“I look forward to assisting local clerks in conducting successful elections for Jackson County voters,” said Clerk Sowle.
