Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Police officers with the Jackson Police Department (JPD) and a local Jackson company are helping Jackson families get a free ham for the holiday season.
The JPD’s Ham Drive-Thru event is happening Wednesday, December 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at the American 1 Event Center in the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
Five hundred hams are being donated by Garcia Laboratory. The Jackson-based medical laboratory company is working with the JPD to distribute them to families in need.
No prior sign-up is necessary and the hams are free (limit one ham per vehicle).
Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles while entering the fairgrounds using the N. Blackstone Street entrance and driving through the parking lot to the Ham Drive-Thru site.
Officers will be there to direct traffic and distribute the hams to local families.
