Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A man is in custody after police say he shot his girlfriend early Sunday morning in Albion. Officers were called to an apartment complex on West Broadwell Street just after 6 a.m., where they found a 38-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the torso. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

Authorities identified her 33-year-old boyfriend, also from Albion, as the suspect. He was later arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff’s office and is now awaits arraignment at the Calhoun County Jail.
