Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Albion police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man injured on the Fourth of July.

Officers on patrol around 1:15 a.m. Friday heard multiple gunshots near West Broadwell Street. They found shell casings in the area but no victims or property damage.

A few minutes later, police responded to Boyd Drive where a vehicle had reportedly been shot several times. Then, around 2 a.m., a 23-year-old Albion man showed up at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators say the man has not been cooperative, and no arrests have been made so far.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Jackson Police are assisting in the case.
