Friday, detectives from the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety, with the assistance of the Kalamazoo Public Safety Department and the Kalamazoo Metropolitan SWAT Team, executed a search warrant in Kalamazoo and arrested a 17 year-old male in connection with the shooting homicide of 16 year-old Lataveon Cosey. The fatal shooting occurred Tuesday, August 5th in Blackman Township on Longfellow Ave.
The Battle Creek Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
The suspect, a resident of Kalamazoo, is currently lodged in Jackson County Jail.
The investigation is on-going.
