
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Walmart on West Michigan Avenue in Blackman Township Tuesday evening.
Police say a store employee received a phone call around 6:57 p.m. from a man claiming he had planted an explosive device inside the building. Officers from the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety responded immediately, evacuated the store, and secured the area.
Michigan State Police were called in and deployed K-9 units to help search the building. So far, the threat has not been confirmed, but authorities are taking no chances.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
