
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Westbound I-94 is shut down this morning following a serious crash involving a large box truck and a gravel hauler.
The crash happened under the Airport Road overpass near mile marker 136 in Blackman Township. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the freeway closed around 9:15 a.m. and traffic quickly backed up into the City of Jackson.
The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety is on scene, and both westbound lanes remain closed while crews investigate. There’s no estimate yet on when the freeway will reopen.
Drivers should expect significant delays and are urged to seek alternate routes.
