Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A former behavioral therapist from Albion has pleaded no contest to sexually abusing an underage patient.
33-year-old Brandon Noppe entered the plea Tuesday in Jackson County Court. He was originally charged in October 2023 with first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child under 13.
Investigators say Noppe repeatedly assaulted an 11-year-old boy between 2018 and 2020 while serving as the child’s therapist. The abuse reportedly continued even after the boy was no longer a patient, with Noppe continuing to act as a mentor.
The no contest plea means Noppe does not admit guilt but will accept the consequences. He also entered the plea as mentally ill.
Until sentencing, Noppe will be required to wear a GPS monitor.
