Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Families in Jackson and across Michigan can get free school supplies as part of a major statewide giveaway on Wednesday, July 31.
The Community Choice Foundation is handing out 3,200 free backpacks filled with school supplies — and even boxes of cereal — at eight locations, including the Jackson Community Choice Credit Union at 1425 Parnall Rd.
The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., or while supplies last. Each site will have 400 backpacks available, and students must be present to receive one.
The giveaway is open to the public, and no credit union membership is required.
