Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Greg O’Connor) — The U.S. House passed H.R. 4510 last week, which included proper leadership to align networks (plan) introduced by area congressman (R) Tim Walberg and New Hampshire (D) Annie Kuster. This plan would look to clean up federal broadband efforts that are fragmented and overlapping, and push for a national broadband strategy, making sure the underserved and unserved are being funded.
FCC chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel thanked both Walberg and Kuster for their support to help close the “digital divide.” Friday we continued that theme with congressman Walberg on AM radio that some carmakers suggested removing from new vehicles. Walberg is opposed to that idea, as are many of his colleagues. In the recent hearing, Walberg cited WKHM in Jackson and WCSR in Hillsdale, as stations are relied on by the public for news and information:
Congressman Walberg can be heard on WKHM – Jackson’s NewsTalk 970AM/101.5FM most Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
