FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH HOLDING “BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS”

ON SUNDAY, MAY 26 IN DOWNTOWN JACKSON

Jackson, MI – Bark! Meow! Jackson’s First Congregational Church is welcoming pet owners and their furry friends to a special ceremony. First Congregational is holding its annual “Blessing of the Animals” on Sunday, May 26 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held in a very pet-friendly location, the CP Federal City Square in Blackman Park, which is located next to the church in Downtown Jackson.

Every year, owners and pets attend the service, which honors them with a blessing from Rev. Kerry Taylor-Snyder, along with music and inspirational words. “All of God’s creatures provide so much comfort and joy. It is important to take a moment and honor all that pets do for us,” Taylor-Snyder said.

Local media is invited to the event to get heartwarming pictures and video of Jackson’s animal community receiving this special honor. Pets and owners from all walks of life are welcome to attend the event. We ask that pets be on a leash or secured.

Blackman Park is located next to the church at 120 N. Jackson Street. If God blesses us with rain, we will be holding the ceremony inside the church.
