
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The man charged with homicide in relation to the disappearance of his teenage stepdaughter in 1984 has been arraigned in Jackson County Court.
74-year-old Leonard Hugall was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on Tuesday night and was then arraigned on Wednesday afternoon on the charges of Felony Murder and 2nd-Degree Murder, each charge carrying a maximum sentence of in life in prison.
Hugall was initially arrested in Florida before being extradited to Jackson. The 13-year-old girl, Kelly Jean Harris, went missing in Summit Township more than 20 years ago. Her body was never found. Hugall was ultimately charged with homicide in connection with her disappearance.
He remains lodged at the Jackson County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Daniel Goostrey on September 5 at 1 p.m. for a probable cause conference.
