Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A former Western High School student and nearly lifelong figure skater, Peyton Huttenlocker, was able to land the job of her dreams in Colorado, working as US Figure Skating’s Coordinator for Qualifying Events.
Peyton spoke with WKHM about the opportunity, saying her commitment to figure skating and her higher education degree were key factors in US Figure Skating’s decision to hire her.
Peyton says that a lot of the work that figure skaters put in is done when most people are not watching, and that the effort and time needed to be able to excel is no different than any other sport.
Peyton also gave her advice to other figure skaters working hard at their craft to see their desired results, saying that a love for figure skating was always her biggest motivator.
