Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — 19-year-old Antonio Green was lodged at the Jackson County Jail early Thursday morning (September 11) and was subsequently arraigned on multiple charges on Thursday afternoon.

Green has been charged with 2nd degree murder, discharging a firearm in or at a building causing death, and felony firearm. The charges stem from the July 27 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jackson resident Mia Sims in the City of Jackson.

Police arrived to the 1500 block of Carl Breeding Way just outside of a church and found Sims suffering from a gunshot wound in her neck area. Sims would later be pronounced deceased at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.

Green was initially found and arrested in Fresno, California before being extradited to Jackson. He remains lodged at the Jackson County Jail without bond, and is scheduled to have a Probable Cause Conference on September 19.

During the arraignment, Prosecutor Kelsey Guernsey mentioned that charges could potentially be sought for individuals involved with allegedly housing Green in California after he was identified as a suspect.

Green faces a maximum sentence of life in prison for the charges against him.
