Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The first Household Hazardous Waste Collection day is this Thursday (May 22) from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Jackson County Department of Transportation at 2400 North Elm. Darby Stipe is the Program Manager for the Jackson County Conservation District. She reminds our listeners that this is an opportunity to safely discard potentially hazardous materials that shouldn’t go out in your garbage.

A full list of what they can and can’t accept is available online at the website linked below. Those bringing waste to dispose of must register online in advance as well. The next collection is in July.
