Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, all county and state units responded to M-60 between Spring Arbor Township and Summit Township shortly before 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning in an attempt to locate a wanted shooting suspect out of Branch County.

The suspect reportedly stated he was on his way to an unknown address in Jackson County. After several attempted cellphone pings, the suspect’s phone was believed by police to be turned off. The suspect and vehicle were not located, and a Be On the Lookout notice was issued.

WTVB reports that police in Coldwater (Branch County) are looking for a suspect who fired gunshots in the area of Cutter Avenue in Coldwater overnight that could have been headed toward the Jackson area. Authorities believe he could be armed with weapons, including an AR-15.

Police say they are looking for a silver 2010 Volkswagen Jetta with a Michigan license plate with the number EXD 5187 in relation to the Branch County shooting.
