Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson has sentenced defendant Raymond Leon Allen on counts of First Degree Home Invasion (7-20 years), Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (5-15 years), and Stalking (credit for time served in the Jackson County Jail in the amount of 74 days). The offenses must be served consecutively, meaning that Allen must fully serve the first sentence before he begins to serve the next sentence.
The conviction relates to an incident that occurred in Blackman Township on March 22, 2023. After a multiple day trial, a jury convicted Allen of stalking the victim, a stranger to him, for over the course of a year before he ultimately broke into her house and sexually assaulted her.
Jackson County Prosecutor Kelsey Guernsey thanked Judge Wilson for choosing “to sentence at the top of the sentencing guidelines”, and also thanked Detective Jeremiah Wheeler for his work on the case. Prosecutor Guernsey said that justice was served not only for the victim, but also for the community.
