Lenawee County, Mich. (WKHM) — A 22-year-old man from Jackson has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash that took place in the area of Tipton Highway and Kemp Road in Lenawee County’s Franklin Township. The crash happened on the morning of Saturday, June 28 shortly after 6 a.m. The driver was trapped inside of the vehicle before emergency crews were able to extract him and take him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While at the hospital, it was discovered that he had suffered gunshot wounds in his arm and leg, with police saying they seemed to have been “very recent” and detectives have determined that the shooting did not take place while the driver was in the vehicle.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is underway, focusing on the area of the fairgrounds prior to 6 a.m. this past Saturday. Individuals with information related to the crash are asked to contact Detective Dan Hiscock at 517-263-0524.
