JACKSON, MI – Darvin Cole has been sentenced to 19-30 years in prison for Manslaughter, and an additional 2 years for a felony firearms charge following 2 guilty verdicts from April.

Cole, 39, was found guilty of the two felony charges stemming from a heated argument that took place on August 6th, 2021 with Scott Chuck Charles, 40, that resulted in Cole shooting Charles in the abdomen that would prove to be fatal.  The argument started when Cole confronted Charles claiming he took a camper from Cole’s property, which led to the shooting the next day after Cole confronted Charles.

The maximum sentence for Manslaughter is 15 years, however Judge Susan Jordan took into account of Cole’s Habitual Offender Status and other prior felony convictions. Cole must serve a minimum 21 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
