Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — With the recent fatalities involving gun violence this past weekend in the Jackson area, questions around community safety naturally begin to arise. Daniel Mahoney, the Mayor of the City of Jackson, was recently asked on A.M. Jackson if he can say that the City and the surrounding Jackson County is safe. He explained why he believes that question is “relative.”
Mayor Mahoney said that no amount of statistical data will make people feel safe when they are faced with situations like the ones in recent memory.
He also gave his thoughts on what can be done in the community in the short-term to help make Jackson feel safer.
Mayor Mahoney encourages citizens to report suspicious activity to the authorities. This full interview can be found on the “Local Interviews” portion of this website.
