
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Carter Mazur didn’t take long after signing a 3 year entry level contract with The Detroit Redwings to have quality ice time for The Grand Rapids Griffins.
Mazur, now 21, tallied 3 shots on goal, 1 in each regulation period. While also putting in time during power plays, penalty kills, and in overtime. The Griffins would rally with 8 minutes left in the 2nd period to even the score 2-2 heading into the locker room. After a flurry of 8 shots for The Griffins in the 3rd, and 6 shots for The Chicago Wolves, regulation ended. Chicago added on 4 more shots in overtime, while holding Grand Rapids OT shots to a goose egg. Chicago would later escape Van Andel Arena with a 3-2 Shootout win improving their record to 28-28 (4-3), while Grand Rapids fell to 27-30 (4-4). The Griffins have dropped 2 straight, but stole a point in the shootout loss bringing their point total to 62.
Mazur and the Griffins will be in action next on Friday March 31st as they play host to the 2nd place Milwaukee Admirals (38-20, 3-2) with a 7 pm puck drop. This will be the 8th game between the 2 teams this season. The Admirals have taken 5 games (3-0, 4-2, 4-2, 2-1, 3-1), while The Griffins have taken 2 games (3-2, 2-1).
