Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — On Tuesday afternoon, authorities with the Jackson Police Department (JPD) and the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Antonio Green was arrested in Fresno, California.

Green has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide of 18-year-old Jackson woman Mia Sims.

JPD Chief Christopher Simpson told WKHM that this arrest is the first step toward achieving justice.

 

Chief Simpson said that the effort to arrest Green was a collaborative one, requiring communication between many municipalities local and beyond.

 

As Jackson authorities await Green’s extradition, other homicide cases that have been on the books since before the beginning of this calendar year.

Chief Simpson assures those families waiting for justice of their own that the JPD is diligently working to make that happen.

 

There us currently no set timetable for when Antonio Green will be extradited back to Jackson. Green faces charges of second-degree murder, discharging a firearm at a building causing death, and felony firearm.
