
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Al Glick Classic High School Baseball and Softball Tournaments took place this past Saturday morning and afternoon. The Columbia Central Golden Eagles softball team commanded their way through the bracket at Parkside, starting with a 19-0 victory over Jackson High School, followed by a 9-2 win over Quincy, and then topping the day off with a 4-0 shutout over Lumen Christi. The Golden Eagles’ next softball game is a Cascades matchup against Grass Lake scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
For the Al Glick Classic Baseball Tournament, the Lumen Christi Titans took home the main prize. The Titans’ baseball diamond played host to their first two matchups, which featured a 2-0 win over Quincy in Round 1 followed by a 13-1 drubbing of Hudson in the semifinal. Lumen Christi then traveled to Jackson High School for their championship matchup against Onsted, who they defeated 7-0. The game featured a seven inning shutout performance from pitcher Timmy Crowley and a home run from Nathan Hinkley. Lumen Christi’s next baseball game is on Tuesday, on the road against Tecumseh at 4:30 p.m.
