
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson County Prosecutor Kelsey Guernsey reports that Joseph Gabriel O’Rourke has been arraigned on the charges of Open Murder, Weapons- Carrying Concealed, and Weapons- Felony Firearm. The maximum possible penalty for Open Murder is up to life in prison.
These charges relate to a shooting that occurred in the City of Jackson on May 16, 2025, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Emarion Flowers. O’Rourke is being held without bond at the Jackson County Jail at this time.
A probable cause conference has been scheduled for May 30 at 1 p.m. and an exam hearing has been scheduled for June 6 at 9 a.m. before Honorable Allison Bates.
