
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that they will close northbound Airport Road over I-94 in Jackson beginning September 23 to replace bridge beams that were damaged by a high-load strike on April 11.
The work on the project will replace the portion of the bridge that was damaged.
MDOT says this portion of work will require closing northbound Airport Road for the duration of the project, with intermittent closures on I-94 at night for demolition / removal and beam placement.
According to the department, the work is expected to continue until Monday, December 15. Drivers should expect delays, and are advised to take alternate routes during the construction period.
