Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the Michigan Avenue roundabout to the southeast of I-94 for rebuilding starting on Monday (September 29).
This work is part of the multi-year, $162 million I-94 road and bridge rebuilding project in Jackson County, and is part of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Rebuilding Michigan program that aims to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state’s economy and carry the most traffic.
The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in the improvement of the condition of the state’s infrastructure.
This work will require closing the Michigan Avenue roundabout just southeast of I-94 beginning Monday morning at around 7 a.m. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, October 13.
Motorists should expect delays, and the following detours will be posted:
- Eastbound I-94 traffic will be detoured to use the Parma Road on and off ramps.
- Westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured to use the Concord Road and Parma Road ramps.
