Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Miss Crossroads and Teen Scholarship Competition has recently expanded beyond Jackson County. Now, young women that live, go to school, or work in one of Jackson, Hillsdale, or Ingham Counties are now eligible to apply for the competition that is being held on December 7 at the Michigan Theatre.

Co-Executive Director Tina Cook spoke to WKHM about the different kinds of pageants that are offered and the nature of the expansion.

The current titleholder of Miss Crossroads, Payton Perry-Radcliffe, gave her words of advice to anyone on the fence about applying for the competition, saying that those who choose not to are missing out on a good opportunity.

Payton was also willing to share her thoughts on the experience of being Miss Jackson Crossroads and the positive impact she is able to have on our local community.

While the scholarship opportunities up for grabs at December’s competition are great on their own, it could also be a stepping stone to even more down the road.
