
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A recent vehicle crash in Jackson County resulted in the death of two individuals. At around 9:10 a.m. on Monday June 9, 2025, authorities responded to a crash involving a box truck and a gravel hauler semi on westbound I-94 in the area of the Airport Road overpass. Officials say the box truck collided with the rear of the semi, which was carrying two trailers worth of gravel. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, and fuel was spilled onto the roadway due to the crash.
The driver and passenger of the box truck, a 30-year-old man from Sterling Heights and a 22-year-old man from Warren, were both pronounced deceased on the scene. Westbound I-94 at Airport Road was shut down for around seven hours to allow for a response from emergency crews and an initial investigation of the crash.
A full investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
