A $2 billion merger was announced Tuesday morning in which NASCAR will acquire the parent company of the Michigan International Speedway. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year. The speedway in Brooklyn hosts five races this year among NASCAR’s three national touring series, including two races in its top-level Monster Energy Cup Series as well as an ARCA Menard’s series race in June and the Faster Horses country music festival.
