Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Country star Nate Smith has canceled all of his June performances, including his pre-race concert at Michigan International Speedway. Smith was scheduled to take the stage Sunday, June 8, before the Firekeepers Casino 400 as part of the Busch Light Summer Music Series.
The rising country artist says doctors have placed him on strict vocal rest through the end of the month, calling it the first real break for his voice in nearly five years. He expressed disappointment, saying this month included several “bucket list” shows.
MIS officials have not yet said whether a replacement acct will be announced.
The one-hour concert was set to take place on the grass near the start/finish line and was included with Sunday race tickets.
Smith, a Billboard Rookie of the Year, is also part of Jason Aldean’s Full Throttle Tour.
