Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that they will be suspending work and lifting traffic conditions where possible during Labor Day weekend on 100 of 164 projects to help ease congestion and increase safety.
However, there will still be multiple construction efforts in Jackson County that should be accounted for over the holiday weekend. According to MDOT, work zones in Jackson that will remain active or have lane restrictions include:
- Airport Road – one northbound lane open over I-94
- Jefferson Road – closed at US-127 with a posted detour
- Cooper Street – closed between Washington Avenue and Pearl Street with a posted detour, and also has one lane closed in each direction at the Portage River with a temporary traffic signal
Other construction projects that will be lifting traffic conditions may still have equipment, temporary shifts, and/or shoulder closures in place.
