Meet Maggie & Freckles: From Loners to Best Friends
This week’s K105.3 and Kibby Park Animal Hospital’s Pet of the Week is a little different. Instead of featuring just one pet, we want to share the story of Maggie and Freckles, two tabby cats who have found comfort in each other while waiting for a home. When they first arrived at the shelter, each of these girls were loners and spent most of their time hiding. Maggie is 1 year old and has been at the shelter since September, and Freckles is 6 years old and has been waiting since November.
Over time, they found one another and began venturing out of their hiding spaces more. Now, visitors will still find these girls hiding, but they are often curled up side by side and quietly supporting each other. Their friendship has helped them feel safer and more confident, and it is clear how much happiness they bring one another. Maggie and Freckles have become besties and would love to be adopted together by someone patient and kind. They are still waiting at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, and to help keep them together, their adoption fee is now two for the price of one.
